I have looked for FRANCO FERRARA's classical ( not movie sound track)
recording more than two decades.
For example...
* Beethoven; Sym.8 - Orch. of the Accadema di Santa Cecilia (EMI)
* Respigi; Antiche arie e danze - Rome PO (Everest)
* Verdi; La forza del destino (overture) - Orchestra of la Scala (EMI)
Celibidache admired Ferrara very much as a conductor and a teacher.
Because of illness, FRANCO Ferrasa stepped down a podium in his young
time.
Someone has his rare recording???

If I am ever able to upload things -- and as I have written here, I
currently am not -- I could upload the Respighi. I also have a copy of
the 78 of the Forza overture, but it's useless because a sizeable
piece is broken out of it. I've also wanted the Beethoven for decades.

It's interesting that Celibidache admired Ferrara. So did others,
including Kenneth Jean, the former Associate Conductor of the Chicago
Symphony, and Sir Andrew Davis. Both of them studied conducting with
Ferrara in New York. They both regard Ferrara as a master. And they
both told me why Ferrara had to stop conducting in public. It was a
nervous and emotional problem. As they explained it, Ferrara reacted
to music with such intense emotion that on occasion he passed out on
the podium. He couldn't control it. Some said that he had epilepsy,
but he didn't.

Good luck in your quest. I wish I could help.

Hmmm, sounds to this layman as though it's like Stendhal syndrome:

Or possibly narcolepsy from the mental stress of conducting?
