Of course all of these are available on Pearl's "Columbia Recordings" set,
whose 78 sources weren't so quiet, as I recall. How would you compare the
transfers?

I was particularly pleased with the quality of these discs, which
required relatively minimal processing.
Here's a link to an MP3 of the finale from the Schubert, which I think
sounds really special, especially from about 1'15":
