Does anyone have a list of Teldec's recent recordings of Mozart Sacred
Music with Harnoncourt/Concentus musicus Wien/Arnold Schoenberg Chor? I
have a few of them, but each time I go to a store I see another. Thanks!

Did I say I was writing on behalf of anyone? "No" you say?
Well then, I probably wasn't.

The last four releases are as follows (as far as I know). I've
been trying to keep up with him!

1993 Missa Solemnis K.337
Litaniae de venerabili altaris sacramento K.125
Regina coeli K.276

1994 Kyrie K.341
Dixit et Magnificat K.193
Missa brevis K.275 (272b)
Litaniae Lauretanae B.M.V. K.195 (186d)

1994 Venite populi K.260
Regina coeli K.108 (74d)
Te Deum K.141 (66b)
Sancta Maria, mater Dei K.273
etc., etc.

1995 Grabmusik K.42 (35a)
Regina coeli K.127
Ave verum corpus K.618
etc., etc.

These are the newest releases that I know of (except for two compilation
CD's of sacred arias and various mvts. of sacred works from earlier
releases). Oh, there was also the re-release of "Thamos King of Egypt"
that was recorded in the early 80's I think. But the above are the
latest NEW releases. Is there a new one? Wouldn't surprise me!

[list hacked]

Are these new recordings, or reissues of older stuff that he did in the
'70s and '80s for Teldec? Harnoncourt did a series of Mozart's choral works
for Teldec a few years back, which had its moments, though his angular
rhythms and unconventional approach to phrasing and accents sometimes tended
to grate on my nerves. Still, there was a wonderfully effective Requiem on
that set, featuring a Kyrie that gradually crescendoed with each successive
entry of the fugue subject. I'd be curious to hear it, if there are new
recordings coming out!

All of the recordings that I listed in my earlier post (the list
that was hacked!) are *new* recordings. All of which are excellent. The
best one is Harnoncourt's recording of the Missa Solemnis K.337. This is
absolutely wonderful, especially with Barbara Bonney. I can't say enough
about this recording. Heavenly. Here is the list again if anyone is
interested. Again, there may be a new one out that I haven't seen yet.

1993 Missa Solemnis K.337
Litaniae de venerabili altaris sacramento K.125
Regina coeli K.276

(Teldec 4509-90494-2)

1994 Kyrie K.341
Dixit et Magnificat K.193 (186g)
Missa Brevis K.275 (272b)

Litaniae Lauretanae B.M.V. K.195 (186d)

(Teldec 4509-93025-2)

1994 Venite populi K.260 (this recording is WAY TOO legato for me)
Regina coeli K.108

Sancta Maria, mater Dei K.273

Sub tuum praesidium K.198 (158b)
Tantum ergo K. 197 (Anh. 186e)
Litaniae Laurentanae B.M.V. K.109 (74e)
Benedictus sit Deus K.117 (66a)
Inter natos mulierum K.72 (74f)
Alma Dei creatoris K.277 (272a)
Ergo interest, an quis - Quaere superna K.143 (73a)
Te Deum laudamus K.141 (66b)
(Teldec 4509-96147-2)

1995 Grabmusik K.42 (35a)
Kyrie K.33
Veni sancte spiritus K.47
Scande coeli limina K.34
Hosanna K.223 (166e)
Kyrie K.322 (296a)
Kyrie K.323 (Anh. 15)
Regina coeli K.127
Miserere K.85 (73s)
Quaerite primum regnum dei K.86 (73v)
Kyrie K.90
Tantum ergo K.142 (Anh. 186d)
Ave verum corpus K.618
(Teldec 4509-98928-2)

All of the above listed are *new* recordings. All are highly recommened,
especially the Missa Solemnis K.337. Wonderful. I LOVE Barbara Bonney!

Maintaining the same format but taking the Harnoncourt "cycle" back a couple
more years:

1990:
Missa solemnis in C minor (Waisenhausmesse) KV 139
Exsultate, Jubilate KV 165
Teldec Das Alte Werk - 2292-44180-2
NOTE: More Barbara Bonney :-)

1991:
Missa solemnis KV 66
Vesperae de Dominica KV 321
Teldec Das Alte Werk - 2292-46469-2
NOTE: More Barbara Bonney :-)

1992:
Missa K 257 (Credo) (THIS MASS IS OUTSTANDING!)
Litaniae de venerabili altaris sacramento KV 243
Teldec Das Alte Werk - 9031-72304-2
NOTE: Alas, no Barbara Bonney :-( But, Angela Maria Blasi is wonderful in
her own right :-)

Thanks for posting the earlier releases. I have to go out and
get those ones now! Ah, Barbara Bonney. *sigh* I hope everyone out there
has her Schubert disc. It would be a crime if you didn't!
