Great, thanks! I am surprised though that Golovanov didn't add cymbal
clashes to Bach's Air.

Neal -

What unusual and hard to find Golovanov material. Thanks much to you
and Ward for these items. Pity about the missing cymbals in the
Bach :-)

Thanks! This is a real jewel that will contribute to Golovanov's
reputation. He is so little known. I know that he has had some
champions here, notably Samir, but the wide availability of this type
of material is very helpful to those who are merely curious.

Kind regards

It's kind of a Bach Air turned upside down, in any case....the cellos
are given most of the 1st violin part! BTW, does anyone else think
there's a piano added near the end of Valse Triste (from 2:30 or so to
3:20)?? I suppose it could be a harp, but there's no harp part there
either (balalaika?). I love his commas and fermatas
too........totally over the top, but so reeking with drama.
Interesting also, he cuts off the strings between the last three
chords, rather than have the lowest of the four violin parts hold the
G through.

I still have the Golovanov volume of the "Great Conductors" series available
if anybody would like to buy it. I just cannot stand that brass section!
