That last remark was unwarranted. There's plenty of reason to admire the
music of Franz Zappa and of Elliott Carter.

Does Elliott Carter have a son named Dweezil? (Anybody could think up
"Moon Unit," but "Dweezil" is something that only a towering genius could
invent.)

Here's where I have to express a disagreement with the otherwise great
Frank Zappa. When you name somebody, you are applying one of many
shaping devices to them. People often grow up constrained by their
names. Dweezil might well have turned out the way he is with a different
name, but from all I've seen, he's turned out a Dweezil, and that seems
kind of sad to me.
To give him his due, I liked his voice acting on "Duckman."

Th-that was a joke, son.
-John Thomas
So taken. Zappa's 'genius' does not tower. His music protrudes from the
murky water of pop like an alligator's eyes.

And there are plenty of males named Ahmet.
