Anyone have any insight why Wolfgang Scheiderhan, Eugen Jochum, and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra made two recordings of the Beethoven Violin Concerto for Deutsche Grammophon within the span of 3 years?

The first in 1959, the second in 1962.
Both in the same venue, the same cadenzas, and the timings are virtually identical.

Both are in the Jochum Complete Recordings on Deutsche Grammophon Vol. 1 boxed set.
There is a statement that the 1959 recording appears in stereo for the first time. Which I would think rules out recording the new one with the advent of stereo.

I have searched the internet but found nothing about the reason for the second recording.

I have not listened in detail but I believe the difference in the two stereo performances lies in the cadenza used. The 1959 recording uses the Kreisler cadenza while the 1962 recording uses Schneiderhan’s own cadenza composed after Beethoven’s own cadenza for the piano variation of his violin concerto.

All of the notes say both '59 and '62 recordings used a Schneiderhan version of the cadenzas Beethoven composed for the piano version of the op. 61 concerto.

According to Youngrok Lee's Schneiderhan discography,
Schneiderhan recorded the Beethoven Concerto seven times,
including in 1959.

According to the following:

- In 1962 Wolfgang Schneiderhan adapted Beethoven’s piano cadenzas for his violin recording with Eugen Jochum and the Berlin Philharmonic (DG) but made a few cuts and had to slow a few tempos and simplify the density of the piano writing to fit his fiddle.
