Hallo

My mother owns an LP recording of Mozart's Requiem as performed by
Karl Richter and Munchener Bach-Chor and Orchester. Does anyone know if
this recording has been reissued on CD ? This is a wonderful, wonderful
recording and I would like to have it. (Unfortunately, I don't have an LP
player. :) The LP was distributed by Telefunken. Thank you !

As far as I know, it was re-released recently by Teldec in their Karl
Richter edition.

I agree. I had the Telefunken LP years ago and loved it, but I~ve never
seen it around on CD. I seem to remember liking the bass singer
particularly (Karl Christian Kohn, was it?). The critics were a bit
negative though - wbut who cares about them? If anyone knows of this
performances~s existence on CD, do let us all know please.

The performance was recently re-issued by TelDec as part of their Karl
Richter edition.

I also have the orginal Lp and intend to listen to it again and see if
it's half as good as I remember it to be.

Yes.
This recording was reissued on Teldec 8.44264 as part of their I "heart"
Classics series. I agree that it is a fine performance, but do not know if it
is still available.

I wonder what negative the critics said .. ?

Anyhow, I found the following title from the pages of CDWorld's
www-site:

* MOZART*W.A. . . . REQUIEM
STADER/TOPPER/VAN KESTEREN/+
RICHTER/MUNCHENER BACH ORCH &
Wea/Atlantic Classical #97926. . Street Date: February, 1996 . . .
List: $9.97 ** Order CD: $9.47

Since someone else mentioned that this recording might have been reissued
by Teldec, this might very well it. But then again, no sign of Kohn on the
second line. (But then again, the bass singer would be the fourth to be
listed..) So, I think we have another disc to add to our todo-lists.
