Here's a lesson on wine from the book Drinks From Drugs:
http://books.google.com/books?id=Q244AAAAMAAJ&pg=PA7
In the Jewish Talmud we are informed that it was Satan who induced
Noah to cultivate a vine. The legend says that Satan, having
prevailed upon Noah to plant a vineyard, they two went out to select
a proper piece of ground for that purpose. Having agreed upon the
ground, it was arranged between them that Noah should dig the holes
and plant the seed, while Satan went off to procure the animals to
be offered upon it. He brought a lamb, a monkey, a lion and a pig.
The blood of these four animals was then poured upon the ground,
and thereby came the color of the wine. The lamb was to represent
the man who never drinks intoxicants, kind, loving and gentle. The
monkey, the moderate drinker, full of fun and mischief. The lion,
the immoderate drinker, bold and courageous. The pig, the drunken
sot, lying in the gutter.
Especially so when the entire post is total bull. Jews do, in fact, drink
wine at Passover.
The Talmud is a codification of Jewish law, and has nothing to do with
legends. The concept
of Satan in Judaism is totally different than in Christianity, as Satan is
not viewed as a physical entity.
As said above:
Ignorance compounding ignorance. Please take jpj's advice! Anyone seriously
interested in the Noah/Satan story (not in the Talmud, which is not a
"codification" of anything and does indeed contain many legends--just not this
particular one) might consult Louis Ginzberg, Legends of the Jews, vol. 1, pp.
167-168 and the accompanying notes.

P.S. The market for high-quality Kosher-for-Passover wine is flourishing as never
before, but I stick to Manischewitz myself :-)
Isn't it kind of incredible that the high-tech, science-based internet
would contain places for discussions of primitive superstition?
: Please take this elsewhere. A discussion of the Talmud is not
: appropriate in this group. There are specialized groups for that.

anti-Semitic screeds and for frequent changes of alias to get around
people's kill files. Please, please, PLEASE do not respond to his posts.

"an optimist is a guy/ that has never had/ much experience"
Do you mean that "weary flake" is "Tony Gaza"?
How could participants here do what you ask (not responding to "his" posts), if
his name is not mentioned in "his" posts?
I looked at each page that had the word "wine" in it and saw nothing
that looks like the Noah/Satan story of bloody sacrifice of animals,
with each animal symbolizing a drinker's practices, coming together to
become wine.

Dry, overpriced stuff, I used to drink MD 20/20 "grape wine", but don't
know for sure if it was kosher-certified. I used it for magical
purposes: I needed a miracle every day.
Well, he hasn't exactly made much effort to conceal his views, e.g.
"Jews are evil and it is important to spread the word"

.
You're pointing to another newsgroup again.
I don't see how this makes clear who "Tony Gaza" is, or what this has to do with
this newsgroup.
