For the uninitiated, please tell us about the label "Bells of St.
Florian," which I see on the Berkshire site. Anything good there?

These appear to be taken from concerts and have very good sound for the
most part (no notes, not even recording dates on most of them). I have
only picked up Sanderling's BRSO 4th (which was too slow for my taste)
and Kubelik's BPO 9th, which I find a solid performance and quite a
rarity. At the price the B. sells them for,, they're worth taking a
chance.

Are you saying the disc is mislabeled?
(AB-2 says it's with the VPO).
It's not mislabelled. AFAIK there are two different Jochum performances
of Bruckner 7th on this Bells of St Florian label. AB-15 has the
Concertgebouw recording from 17 September 1986 recorded live in Tokyo,
while AB-2 is an earlier account dating from 9 June 1974, taken from a
Wiener Festwochen concert with the VPO in the Musikvereinsaal.

Yes. it's a re-union concert with Berliner Philharmoniker in 1992. Sound
is quite a good. Worth have it.

I don't know Ramon, but every time you mention a Tokyo neighborhood I get an
irresistible craving for anago.

Does the Munich Philharmonic play as well for Jochum as they do for
Celi? I am curious to hear the MPO under different conductors; so far I
know only Wand could get the same level of playing as Celi did.
