I'm wondering if there are other services that have significantly different libraries of recordings. Not at all complaining about Spotify which seems excellent to me - just notice that certain labels like Hyperion aren't present. Is there any service that offers vinyl recordings that never made it to CD? I came across at least one on Spotify.

Thanks

Both Amazon and Apple music steaming have huge classical music libraries

IMO, it's pretty hard to beat Spotify. The only place I think you'd be able to find more rare clips would be YouTube, but much of that is lower sound quality, subject to being taken down at any time, and of dubious legality. Hyperion in particular has decided they make more money staying off Spotify and forcing people to buy rather music, which is probably the right business decision; an outsized portion of my CD purchases these days are Hyperion.

It's probably those labels' choice not to offer their music for
streaming, and I assume they won't do that on other platforms either
(unless they're significantly more expensive platforms in order to
render them the revenues they probably feel are lacking in the Spotify
model).

Hyperion make their recordings available as downloads from their website at very reasonable prices.

Other than Hyperion, are they "main" Classical labels that are not offering their content on Spotify?
I've been using Spotify for sometime and absolutely love it, I have created a lot of playlists and folders to organize what I found there.

BTW, are there any group/Facebook page/Facebook group that people know that talk/share more about Classical Music on Spotify?

Happy listening,

Depends on what you call main. MDG has some beautiful recordings (e.g.
by Leonskaja & Zacharias) but is not represented on Spotify at all. Nor
is ECM.

Chandos didn't use to be but they seem to have more (if not all) of
their recordings on Spotify now.

Just went and checked out there latest album which is really great. Will spend more time listening to the entire thing over the next few days.

Still, it's a shame that smaller groups such as MDG don't jump onto the band wagon as well as the heavy weights Hyperion et al. It will probably require coordination and negotiations on the sides of both Spotify and the labels+artists.

Just an update a year later - ECM is now on Spotify (and Demenga's recording of the Bach cello suites is superb!). Hyperion still is not.

Another label that isn't on Spotify is Testament.
