I remember Sony France put all of its Casadesus CD reissues into a giant box some years ago and have been hoping Sony would collect them once again in a smaller and less expensive box, but I guess Scribendum beat them to the punch?

Unless I am mistaken, the Brahms 2 was withdrawn almost immediately from
circulation, if it was even issued.

So, I am surprised to see it listed here.

This means that you heard Jean Casadesus before he died in an automobile
accident in Sarnia, Ontario, on January 20, 1972. I never heard him in
person, but I own several of his solo recordings for EMI on the Angel
label, none of which has been transferred to CD.

Yes.

I have no recordings of Jean.

I can highly recommend this cd of some of Robert's own solo piano compositions:

http://tinyurl.com/pgm7c5r

As well as the Beethoven sonatas with Francescatti , Saint-Saens 4th with Bernstein , Mozart K.467 and 491 with Szell.

The Preludes, not the Toccata, are his best works.

The illustration of the back cover suggests it is all Jean, apart
from the Scarlatti sonatas.

From their notice today, I see that Berkshire is now selling this set
for $120. (Amazon shows no evidence for it.)

Did anyone earlier pick this up and, if so, any reactions to it?
[Not that I need another large set at the moment, indeed, far from it. :)]
