From January 1957 to March 1962 Columbia Masterworks in collaboration
with the Fromm Music Foundation released a series of 9 highly
acclaimed LPs in the Twentieth Century Composer Series with music by
composers including Elliott Carter, Luigi Dallapiccola, William Denny,
Leon Kirchner, Ernst Krenek, Benjamin Lees, Jerome Rosen, Ilhan
Usmanbas and Ben Weber. Sony Classical with kind support by the Fromm
Music Foundation is now properly documenting the meritorious
cooperation between Columbia Masterworks and the Fromm Music
Foundation with the release of a special 9 (+1) album boxed set,
remastering the remaining 6 LPs with repertoire by Foss, Harrison,
Killmayer, Kirchner, Krenek, Weber and Dallapiccola from the 2- and
3-track analogue tapes, and thus making this special repertoire
available worldwide and in high resolution audio. The Fromm Music
Foundation was founded by the late Paul Fromm in 1952. Since 1972, it
has been located at Harvard University where it has operated in
partnership with the Harvard University Music Department. Over the
course of its existence, the Fromm Foundation has commissioned over
400 new compositions and their performances. The Fromm Foundation has
also sponsored hundreds of new music concerts and concert series,
among them Tanglewood's Festival of Contemporary Music, American
Composers Orchestra, and the Fromm Concert Series at Harvard
University.

Sorry. Guess I didn’t read the first post carefully enough. I see that some of the albums (maybe all?) have appeared earlier in Qobuz already. Showing April 23 release date there. But none appear to have “Fromm Foundation” in their titles, so they are not particularly easy to find.

Got this one a few weeks ago. Some of this has made it on CD elsewhere. But very well worth having. Some of this music hasn't been recorded again, at least to my knowledge. Wonderful box. Grab it while you can, because Sony seems like they barely keep these things around anymore, at least stateside.

Amazon weems to have more (after listing only one in stock a day or two ago(,
also new from seveal marketplace sellers. Price not quite as low.

The Amazon description refers to this as a 9(+1) CD set. What is the +1?
[I'm trying to determine if I actually want this, since I already have
three of the CD's in other boxes.] Thanks.

The 10th disc is Leon Fleisher's disc of Copland, Kirchner, Sessions & Rorem on Epic, previously released in the Fleisher box set.

Hamm - I was assuming that was one of the 9 (and it's one I have).
The listing at Presto does appear to simply be 10 CD's (so far as
I can tell from the list of works and performers). Presto, unlike
Amazon, does say 10 CD's. I should probably drop that question. :)

The Box lists the Fleisher disc as a "bonus" and is not part of the Fromm Music Foundation series.
