There is NO "best." That is an idiotic concept. Telarc does have a
well-deserved reputation for first-rate engineering resulting in
excellent sound; I have also found that, much of the time, the
performers are short of the highest level, resulting sometimes in
"safe," bland performances. There are, of course, exceptions.

Back in the days of black vinyl they were a cut above the rest, but
nowadays their advantage is narrower (if it exists at all). I must admit
they do record well, and I cannot remember ever hearing a poorly-recorded
Telarc.

There is no "best," but Telarc does seem to be consistently good. I think
that you won't be greatly disappointed with any of their recordings, and
some are very good. They also have a reputation for good audio, and all
of their recordings are digital recordings, if that is important to you.
