Anyone know much about these guys? They have an online site, and
include the "Inventa" label, which has had a couple of recent
recordings I wanted to hear....

First time I tried, a few months back, purchase wouldn't complete,
even though the "authorization" showed on my card. They did respond,
telling me there was no charge on their end -- and the authorization
did eventually disappear from my account. I thought it was bizarre
that they didn't respond with information about how actually to buy
their product!

But I decided that perhaps their credit card processor was UK only
-- I still suspect this -- and so I chose Paypal (as guest) instead,
and that worked. None of this information was ever revealed or
confirmed though, as to how one must purchase.

Fast forward to last week, and I attempted another download purchase.
These albums are also on Presto as downloads, but without liner
notes.... (Sigh.) I did the Paypal guest route again and made the
purchase (& received the liner notes), but the music tracks -- pace
a previous discussion, I selected CD quality FLAC among the options
-- ended up being corrupted, and I can't hear one third of the
album. (IME, this usually means the archiver overran the encoder.)

No response from customer service this time.

I’ve bought quite a few things from them in the past but less so recently because their releases are streaming now. I know that’s no help . . .

Well, maybe it does explain why they seem to have become disinterested
in their own web business....

In hunting for info on another release that appears to be
download/streaming only, I found that Qobuz is selling digital
albums for download now. (Maybe they always were, but I didn't
realize if so.) In this case, they have the albums for less than
Presto (& Resonus itself) and include the booklets.

(Still haven't heard a word back from Resonus. Will be denying the
bank charge I guess.... Still seems weird.)

What are you buying from them? I didn’t know they did any free improvisation . . .

Review copies are in a constant state of flux, like much else....
So I don't wait for other channels unless I've had prior expectations.

The album that made me notice Qobuz behaving like a music retailer,
FWIW:

Definitely did not notice that one, until being noted here in the
list from Johan van Veen....

I doubt that, aren't they a small family run business? I would imagine
that the family like so many others are fighting off Covid infection. Have
you tried ringing them to find out?

And I ended up buying that _Die Schicksalsballaden des Codex
Chantilly_ album (not on Resonus) on highresaudio.com....

A few notes on this event:

1) The album isn't bad in that it seems like a bit of a quasi-naive
rethinking, which isn't a terrible thing.... A bit awkward. Probably
won't review it since it's a 2020 release (i.e. old :-) ). Fine
program.

2) Per a prior discussion here, I wasn't really looking for "high res
audio" for this release, but their price of $11.30 for "FLAC48"
(the only format on offer there for this item) was lower than what
I found elsewhere anyway.

3) The purchase experience from this highresaudio.com site was not
the best: Cumbersome signup process, payment process with extra
validation (probably not true if choosing Paypal?), first download
attempt failed for unknown reasons (not a usual experience for me),
second did work, but even e.g. track order needed to be fixed by
hand (track #10 played second, as it was).... All were fixable
issues, but the process took a while.

4) This "Conditura Records" was new to me -- as was (coincidentally)
the label "Son an ero," whose Binchois/Ockeghem album was recently
pointed out to me in email -- and may be download/streaming only?
I was able to find program notes/discussions for _Fortune Obscure_
& _Quinze_, but other documentary details are scarce. If
download/stream-only labels are to be the norm, how is this information
(i.e. catalog info) to be handled?
