And I ended up buying that _Die Schicksalsballaden des Codex
Chantilly_ album (not on Resonus) on highresaudio.com....
A few notes on this event:
1) The album isn't bad in that it seems like a bit of a quasi-naive
rethinking, which isn't a terrible thing.... A bit awkward. Probably
won't review it since it's a 2020 release (i.e. old :-) ). Fine
program.
2) Per a prior discussion here, I wasn't really looking for "high res
audio" for this release, but their price of $11.30 for "FLAC48"
(the only format on offer there for this item) was lower than what
I found elsewhere anyway.
3) The purchase experience from this
highresaudio.com site was not
the best: Cumbersome signup process, payment process with extra
validation (probably not true if choosing Paypal?), first download
attempt failed for unknown reasons (not a usual experience for me),
second did work, but even e.g. track order needed to be fixed by
hand (track #10 played second, as it was).... All were fixable
issues, but the process took a while.
4) This "Conditura Records" was new to me -- as was (coincidentally)
the label "Son an ero," whose Binchois/Ockeghem album was recently
pointed out to me in email -- and may be download/streaming only?
I was able to find program notes/discussions for _Fortune Obscure_
& _Quinze_, but other documentary details are scarce. If
download/stream-only labels are to be the norm, how is this information
(i.e. catalog info) to be handled?
