Some time back (several years, I think), there was a posting that provided a
link to a plastic sleeve designed
to hold all the contents of the typical CD jewel case (CD, notes, front and
back labels, and-I think-display
the edge labels). The web site had a video showing this product and its
benefits. It save about 70% of the
shelf space that would be required by the standard CD cases.

I thought that I had carefully
saved the link; but I've lost it. My searches of RCMR archives failed; I
must be using the wrong search key words.

Can anyone provide the link to this product?

I believe Mr. De Mena uses Jazz Loft (TM) sleeves.

I bought some, and they're fine. I had thought about
transferring my CDs to sleeves to save space, but I moved
and gained a basement and it was a lot easier to buy cheap
shelving. It seems to me the sleeves lend themselves better
to being stored forward-facing in drawers rather than
shelves. It would be a lot easier to thumb through them in a
drawer than to try to read the narrow spine on a shelf.

In the case of LPs, I recall that depending on the material the disc rests on, there is the possibility that the playing surface might become "plasticized." What kind of material does the CD playing surface face in the CD sleeves under discussion here? Thanks.

Jazzloft has redesigned their web site, and as usually
happens, it's worse then the old one. Specifically, they no
longer say what the sleeves are made out of. FWIW, I just
checked some CDs I put into sleeves about 5 years ago and
there's no problem.

Has anyone provided the link to the OP already? It's here:

Several different vendors have been discussed over the
years. I think Jazzloft got the most notice.
Do I have to say their web site is jazzloft.com?

Ah - that address still provides an automatic forward, okay. I just
remembered that Jazzloft went out of business a while ago, with
everything *except* these sleeves (IIRC). I guess that is why the web
site is named differently now.

BTW: I wasn't aware that several different vendors for this have been
discussed. Do you happen to know any in Europe? While I definitely
like Jazzloft's product, I could do without transatlantic shipping...

Can't help you, sorry. I hadn't noticed that jazzloft.com
forwarded to spacesaving sleeves.com. I also hadn't noticed
that they do indeed say what they are made of: 4 mil
archival polyethylene.

You are the first to provide the link, and I thank you. Thanks also to
the other posters.
