What exactly is going to be new to this that isn't on the recent Wilhelm Kempff Edition box? There are two CDs of his Decca material on the Decca Piano Sound box, as well as some misc. individual CDs from Eloquence.

These boxes can sure get confusing. Decca as a "complete" Radu Lupu "solo" box that includes at least some concertos. OK. so soloist with orchestra. They also have a concertos box. Get both and you have duplications. Finally they have the "complete Decca" box that includes both the "solo" and "concerto" material. So I guess you get the concertos (or some of them) twice in that one box. Discogs confirms this.

I did some restoration work for this set. Some Bach solo items from 1949 which only previously appeared on 78s will be included, and there will be the first publication of works by Rameau and Brahms from 1949-50.

That's good news and puts this set on my "to buy" list. I understand you did a few of the 78 sides for the Gaza Anda box. I have been sitting on the sidelines about that one. Might take the plunge.

Given any amount of disposable dough
available to purchase music, it is a no
brainer how to spend it between Geza
and Guglielmo. 0 to the latter, all of it
to the former.

Of course, I typed "Geza" not "Gaza." We live in spellcheck hell. Neither pianist is in my top dozen list, but they both made some interesting recordings. Now if Eloquence really wants to go off the beaten track, they could give us a complete set of Kathleen Long Deccas. Many of those are pre-lp, so Mr. Obert-Thorn could have plenty of work, for which I hope he is well compensated.

What are the 78 material on the Geza Anda (I am guessing you mean the Complete DG box) box? I was going through the contents of that box when it was announced and it appears like only a single disc has not come out on digital before.

This disc with (sorry for formatting, copied from JPC)
+Schellack-Aufnahmen - Bach / Busoni: Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ BWV 639; Scarlatti: Klaviersonate K. 182; Liszt: Mephistowalzer Nr. 1; La Campanella; Chopin: Etüde Nr. 17; Mazurken Nr. 45 & 47; Schumann: Symphonische Etüden op. 13; Brahms: Intermezzi op. 117 Nr. 1-3 & op. 119 Nr. 2

Thank you Mark, I hope Eloquence will have a complete track list up soon, maybe John Fowler will be kind as to help with a breakdown :) I think I have nearly everything on it except for what you've written. And of course looking forward to the upcoming Marston Acoustic Recordings set.

Most of the 78 material has appeared on cd, including the Franck Symphonic Variations and Schumann etudes, most notably in the Original Masters set, "Geza Anda - Troubadour of the Piano."
