Tim is the assistant principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony and the
Principal trumpet of the Pops. The piece in question is called Summon
The Heroes by John Williams. Tim has also been featured in some
other John Williams movie scores. I know for sure that he did JFK. I
am not sure of the others. He is a great player!

The trumpet soloist was Jim Thompson. He is principle trumpet of the
Atlanta Symphony. He has been here since 1989 I think. He was in
Montreal prior to that. He is a magnificant player, isn't he? We are
very fortunate. If you want to hear him with the ASO, check out the
CD of the Mahler V with Yoel Levi conducting. He will blow you away!
I have heard that he is also a very fine instructor, although I have
never had a lesson with him. Hope this helps.....
