Crooked finger - pianist

For a novel I'm writing, I need to communicate a bit with a pianist
with a crooked last (fingertip) joint in fingers 3 or 4, and no other
problem; no arthritis, etc.? (By "crooked," I mean it looks partly
flexed.) I'm a pianist myself, but have never run into another pianist
