Anyone aware of sheet music for this? A student has asked for it but
says he's been told it's only available in China.

Thanks.

True, to my knowledge, that it's only available in China. I was able to acquire a couple of pieces in Yang Xue Fei's repertoires when I was there a few years back.

I think Steve is looking for the guitar transcription of the piece, but a full score is very useful if one needs to self-roll a transcription.

As John suggests I am looking for a transcription of what was being
played in the video I linked to: solo classical guitar.

I appreciate all the suggestions and apologize for not making my request
clearer.

Useful? It's verily required! ;)

(Altho Steve is perfectly able to write down, what he hears. )

Also, I've already posted the original piano + violin version:
http://en.scorser.com/Out/4776030.html

You can direcly play violin scores on the guitar, for instance
the Partita in D minor for solo violin (BWV 1004) by Johann Sebastian Bach
including the famous ciaccona...

Btw - do you (or anyone) like this (especially the groove at the end)?

Sorry!

So this may be a bit closer, but still not a solo:

Here's a fairly accurate solo guitar transciption of what Xuefei plays
but only the first section, about 3.5 minutes in length. You need to
create a 4shared account to download.

The Xuefei Yang CD I have titled 40 Degrees North on the EMI label has
another section(s) and the total track is about 8 minutes long. Though
it's very virtuosic on the guitar no doubt I personally find the music
very boring as it keeps repeating the pentatonic scale too much with
hardly any development besides going up an octave or a bit of melodic
imitation. It's very similar to some of the Celtic music that David
Russell recorded years back in harmony and scales used.
