Many thanks in advance for any feedback on this one.

I haven't tried a Q3, but I love my H2. For a majority of recordings,
it's a hell of a lot simpler and easy to deal with than my Tascam or
my Pro Tools LE setup. It's also a great tool for doing non-musical
recordings - meetings, events, and just the general sounds of an
environment. I took it with us to Cabo, and did a number of surround
recordings of the marketplace and a glass factory we toured. I
converted the recordings to 5.1 and played them back on my HT setup -
really amazing.
Like Tommy, I have a Creative Vado HD for video. Audio from it is
marginal, but the video is amazingly good for such a cheap camera. I'd
recommend what Tommy is doing, use both for doing A/V recording, and
use the software Tashi recommended to sync the playback. Using two
devices will let you place them optimally instead of being stuck to a
single location.

Brad, Steve here, has me on perm ignore, but be sure to tell him he
needs this to go with the Vado:

That's a great deal, I got my Vado HD from Amazon, too, lowest price
by far.
Steve, Tommy says you need a tripod, too. You can get the small ones:

... like this. My suggestion is to get one of these and also get a
decent full-sized tripod. I use a tripod and a monopod with my Vado
and my digital camera all the time, makes a huge difference in ease of
use and image quality.
