I guess you will have to learn to transcribe from solo flute music.

I've got the Denis Azabagic transcription on Mel Bay. No piece of cake
by any means. I think there is a Youtube clip of him playing the first
movement.

In case you want to try your hand at an arrangement:

I am attempting a transcription of Gershwins Promenade from piano to guitar,
it will probably be done as a duet or trio. I like it better with clarinet,
guitar, bass and percussion though. As a guitar solo, some day.

At least there is a video of Carlos playing the piece on YouTube. I have a
piano score of it. I have found one other piano score and one jazz guitar
score. My teacher is helping me with it, He has a masters in jazz
composition.

It'w worth your while to check "good arrangements" against the original.
I've been very unpleasantly surprised by some of the boneheaded stuff that
some arrangers do.

This just in from Carlos Barbosa-Lima:
"My many arrangements of Gershwin´s music aren´t published, as the music
is still in copyright and hard to get a deal for publishing. Perhaps
after they become public domain, which shouldn´t be too far away ..."
That's great--I've heard him play some of them and they're definitely
killer. Way over my head though, even if I had that wild pinky of his.

I have been playing with one of the Gershwin compositions I could probably
deal with the three parts seperately but playing the bass line harmony and
lead all at once as a solo piece would be impossible for me at the moment.
The lead part has lots of grace notes and mordents.
Bob
We spoke of that once in my hotel room at a masterclass. He smiled:
"Someday I'll get around to that..." Them he proceeded to play something
outrageously difficult and beautiful.
Almost as if to say: "Eppur si muove" ("And yet it does move")
[Mumbling these words quietly to himself, or so the story goes, Galileo
Galilei (1564-1642) left the session of the Inquisition that had found
him guilty after a trial for "grave suspicion of heresy"}

Indeed it do!!
