Hello, my name is Philip Von Wrede of Bettie Rocket Records.
This newsletter is tell you about a new skate, surf, snowboard record
label called Bettie Rocket Records.
Bettie Rocket Records is a new surf, skate, snowboard label based
out of Santa Cruz, CA. Our main purpose is to reach people within
this culture and change their lives through Christ. Bettie Rocket
Records was created after a tragic incident in which my wife, Shannon
Von Wrede, was run over by a truck while jogging. We are no compromise
over our beliefs and mission. Through this event, God changed our
lives and led us to start Bettie Rocket Records.
We all here skate, surf, and snowboard and that is what we are
passionate about. We are also a part of Christian surfers.
Recently we partnered with Diamante Music Group for distribution
and we will have three albums releasing late October.
Any support you can give us appreciated and needed to continue to
release quality sk8, snow, and surf music in the scene.
Our first release on Bettie Rocket Records is a 20 track ska
compilation titled "Bettie Rocket presents SkaMania". Bettie Rocket
presents SkaMania will retail for $9.99/$6.99 and is the best
Christian ska compilation out to date. SkaMania was mastered by
Masaki Liu (5 Iron Frenzy, The W's) and all artwork is done by John
Nissen (mxpx, the electrics).
Our next release is The Kreepdowns. The Kreepdowns is a 4 piece
post punk band out of Orange County. Their comparison is a cross
between The Smashing Pumkins and the Sex Pistols. Their songs are
written from their life experiences through Christ.
Our final release is from an 8 piece ska band called Freeto Boat.
Freeto Boat is from the bay area. They are high energy ska. Their
comparison is Five Iron Frenzy meets NOFX. Freeto Boat will skank you
with their blatant message about Jesus Christ. All three albums will
release October 21.
These releases will be advertised with print, radio, and direct
