There has been alot of discussion on rec.music.christian about enya and
what her religious beliefs actually are. Can someone please give a
definitive answer in order to bring an end to the debate.

There is only one sure way, sir, I know of to get the definitive
answer: Ask the great lady yourself! You can write to her c/o
Reprise Records in the USA and WEA in the rest of the world.

Or, you may want to write to her diocese in Gweedore, County Donegal,
where she grew up, attended Catholic boarding school and sang in the
choir ...
And, what difference does it make? Her music instills thoughts of
higher consciousness and a connection with the devine in most rational
listeners.
I guess there are still some that get a little to wrapped up in
irrelevant semantics and lose touch with the essence.

answer is Enya herself. If anybody knows her e-mail address, I would be
more than happy to write to her myself seeing how nobody has done so and

When did I say that I sas in "suspense"? I am personally sick of all the
"(whatever) is he/her christian?" threads on r.m.c.

Some people have to have things labelled them for them before they will accept
it. I suppose it makes things easier somehow.
I think it kind of sad personally.

raised Catholic, but has her own religious beliefs. She loves hymns, and she loves
the beauty of nature and sometimes solitude. I am the biggest Enya fan on earth
(at least in my opinion), and I am also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints (aka Mromon.) Regardless of our own personal convictions (and
mine are strong), beauty can be found in many places. Enya's music is
transporting, and I feel close to God when I hear her music. I do not reject her or
her music because she doesn't accept my specific Christian beliefs. Too many
people in the world remain worried about segregating and relegating people who
do not share their same views. We should clean our own homes before pointing
out that another's is dirty. I am grateful for all the good things that I have been
blessed with in my life, and Enya is definitely one of them.
