"Second to last" announcement! Your invitation to:
The Official Sixth Annual rec.music.christian Cornerstone BBQ!!!!!

Since 1993, people who participate in online discussions about Christian
music throughout the year have had the opportunity to meet each other
face-to-face over lunch at Christian music's largest off-beat event. The
brainchild of newsgroup rec.music.christian regulars
(http://www.netads.com/rmc/ will give newbies a clue), the invitation list
has blossomed to include anyone who cares enough about contemporary
Christian music to seek out other music lovers through the Internet.

Linda, Shari and Trish, your volunteer hostesses, announce the details:

Day: Friday, July 2nd
Time: 11:00 A.M. until the music & seminars start back up
Location: Cornerstone Festival (http://www.cornerstonefestival.com),
Bushnell, Illinois, behind Encore Tent II around the 20 x 20 party tent
with screen walls. Keep looking. We're there. Really. We have a banner.
We'll put up signs with maps. Ask around.

Menu: It's called a BBQ, but we've always served hamburgers, chips, and
sodas. As always, the highlight will be you.

RSVP: If you can read this online, you're invited! Just let us know so we
can order enough food. Send an email message to rmc...@tollbooth.org if you
know (or are pretty certain) you can make it. (Don't post it to the
newsgroup.) Include your name, email address, and, just for kicks, where
you'll be traveling from. (A current list of those who have already RSVP'd
can be found below.)

Cost: In the words of our mentor Kyle, "People can donate to the cause as
the Spirit moves them." Thanks. So far, we've always broke even.

Book and Magazine Exchange: When the hostesses have to breakup discussions and
drag participants over to the ice-breaker, it just doesn't seem as necessary as
a few years back when the idea of speaking to someone you've corresponded with
but never seen was pretty scary. In its place, we're going to try a book and
magazine exchange. Bring your unwanted Christianity-related books and
magazines. Select an equal number in exchange for the trip home.

Volunteers: Yes! We appreciate all the help we can get. We'll also need extra
tables, chairs, and fry cooks.

This is a low-tech, low-cost, simple picnic hosted by and for folks online
that are interested in some aspect of Christian music. Whether you're a
regular contributor or a lurker, c'mon over, put your email address on your
name tag, and talk to your fellow netizens.
