I have just picked up a copy of The 77's "Drowning w/ Land in Sight", and
I am very impressed. I have no prior experience with Christian Alternative
bands. Would I be apt to find this quality in some of the other 77's
prior releases? Are some of the following Artists of the same caliber as
the 77's. (I realize this may not come across well, I am sure the following
Artists are very talented, but what I'm looking for is bands that make the
same style of music as the 77's)

Love Coma
Sixpence none the richer
Dakoda Motor Company
Vigilantes of Love

Thanks alot in advance,

-wte

I'm glad you asked!
Yes, there is plenty to be found in the world of Christian Alternative (some of
which really...well, anyway). Earlier releases by the 77s are teriffic. If
you liked DWLIS then you might try "Pray Naked" (also released to the public as
"The Seventy Sevens" because Word refused to distrubute it with that title.
This is not to be confused with the other release on Exit Records of the same
title. Although, it is a classic as well.). The makeup of the band has changed
a little bit over the past few years as well. Roe, Harmon, and Smith still
make up the core, however. Check out the old stuff. If you have trouble
finding it then write then at 77's Ltd.

Let r.m.c know what you think after giving it all a good listen.
