I can't name just one . . .
The God of Life still sounds great to me, as does Troubador for the Lord
(which may not be the exact title -- it was his tribute, so to speak, to
St. Francis. It was released as a double vinyl album, but I believe it's
been releases as a single cd).
His Christmas album, The Birth of Jesus, is outstanding.
His most recent recordings haven't enticed me as much, although his Hiding
Place was lovely.
Others?

Dave, JMT is one of my all time favorites. It's his "Come To The Quiet"
album that has the most special place in my heart. Absolutely
ministers to me like nothing else ever has musically. "Troubador" is
also another favorite. "Songs of Worship 1 and 2" are other super
collections. I have not stayed as current with his newer releases.
I guess that when I'm in the mood for that type of soothing,
worshipful music, the 8 or 9 albums that I have of his are more
than enough. :-)
I'd love to hear from others though if I am missing out by not
having his newer releases.

Dave,
I personally like JMT's album _The Master Musician_. It is one
of my personal favorites.

It had the same choir who sang on the soundtrack for the movie _the

Of course, if you want to get a sense of JMT before his move to
the monkhood, Sparrow put out a self-titled album (1976) and The New
Earth (1977). He also did an album with his brother Terry called "Reborn"
(1976) (I actually still have the original cassettes of all this
stuff!) which was a re-release of his old band with Warner Bros. - I
think they were called Manassah. Anyway, this stuff is country-folk-rock
in the tradition of early Crosby-Stills-Nash&Young (when Christian rock
was running about ten years behind the times). The first post-monastic
album I got was "Heart of the Shepherd" (Sparrow, 1987).
JMT is really as close as you can get to a coma. But to each his own.
And, really, I can't stand metal either. PIU!
