Do you know any contemporary Christian songs that are based on verses
in the Bible? I'm trying to put together a Bible study with music.
Here are a few I have so far:

1. "God So Loved" - Jaci Velasquez (John 3:16)
2. "Live the Life" - Michael W. Smith (Ephesians 4:1-6)
3. "Shine" - Newsboys (Matthew 5:14-16)
4. "Leaving Ninety-Nine" - Audio Adrenaline (Matthew 18:12-14)
5. "Shout to the Lord" - Mark Schultz (Psalm 98:1-8)
6. ???

By "contemporary" I mean songs that play on KLOVE or AIR1, for
example. Any more songs you can give me is great. Thank you in
advance!

The whole "Glory Revealed" project by Mac Powell and several other well
known artists.
With hope and heart,

I'm uncertain how "based" you mean, but in the past, I've found lyrics
composed by Michael Card to frequently contain quotes from Old or New
Testament versions or be based on the events from specific Bible
verses.

Check out the lyrics by the group ApologetiX, whose lyrics are mostly
based on Bible verse material.

Most of Petra's stuff was based off of Scripture, and usually they cited
the passages in their lyrics sheet.

A handful of 80's CCM rock was like that. DeGarmo & Key comes readily
to mind.

There is quite a lot. But I guess "40" by U2 is probably the most
promintent one though some would argue (and I would disagree) that U2 is
not a Christian band. Anyway it's psalm 40 with music... I don't know
any of the radio stations mentioned. So If I'm totally missing the point
I'm sorry...

Looks like I'm just 8 years too late with this response, but check out Codename WRan on soundcloud.com. The track is called PS23.

Man, many of Petra's songs are Bible lessons set to music.
