Frankie Cutlass is best known for hits like Puerto Rico - Ho!
(Relativity/Sony). In addition to being part of the Flip Squad with Funk
Master Flex and DJ'ing on New York's Hot 97 (WQHT), he has also produced and
collaborated with Rap stars such as Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes, Biz Markie,
and many others. One evening, Frankie was reflecting on his life and the death
of his mother, prompting him to rent Jesus of Nazareth from Blockbuster. The
next day, Easter Sunday, Frankie surrendered his life to Christ, which he
publicly professed at the altar call. As a "new creature," he disassociated
himself from gang activity and recognized the negative influence of his prior
work. So Frankie introduced himself to the Christian music industry by
remixing Nancy Jackson's first single, Free (Harmony/Relativity Records). He
also appeared on the video with members of his new production team, The God
Squad, which received rotation on many video shows including BET. Currently,
Frankie is recording for Tommy Boy Records, which released his first Gospel
single, Warfare, on the Keepin It Real compilation. The compilation features a
"who's who" of Gospel greats such as John P. Kee, Angie and Debbie Winans, and
Fred Hammond. Frankie's single, however, will be included in his new album,
Born Again: The Resurrected, scheduled for release next March by Tommy Boy.
