this, of course, is a tangent. and i don't want to sound as if i'm
nit-picking, rather i feel as though you'd be interested...
but mike ness (of social distortion) is a self-proclaimed "non-Christian."
their newest album has a lot of spiritual songs, but mike (the writer)
says he's into "spirituality" and not any religion in particular. whether
that's new age, mormonism, catholic, holy laughter, or what--i don't know.
when i asked dennis danell (guitarist) if mike had become a Christian, he
gave a surprised laugh, saying "that's even better than the rumor that he
has AIDS!"
now, as for MxPx..... hmmm... =)
to your original inquiry, i don't know of any Christian punk bands with
female singers (i suppose you mean in the vein of Tilt or even The Muffs).
but then again, i haven't been looking.

How about Ordained Fate? They remind me of a hard
Lita Ford type band.
Offhand, I'd recommend (if you can find them) music by "The Lead". They
were a late-80s thrash band. "The Past Behind" was great. "Burn This
Record" wasn't bad.
yeah, but they are neiter punk or hardcore, but they're good ;)
I don't live in washington and I don't do anything to win the
electial!!! ordained fate

Thanks. I found a page on The Lead, they look like exactly what i'm
looking for (christian, punk, underground, female vocals. It's all
there!).
Thanks again,

the lead were great, _the past behind_ being one of the best hardcore
christian records. but only a half of the songs are sung by nina.
also try out the clergy. they're kind of a punk version of the
throwing muses, imho (for some reason the vocals sound simlar to
kristen hersh to me)
