Just an opinion on meaning but it seems to me that they are talking about
those who reject grace and the living water. December being a reference to
Christ maybe?????

No, it probably isn't, since the word "December" wasn't even _around_ when
the Bible was written. However, since we celebrate the birth of Jesus in
December, I'd say that it's not unlikely that the "December" in the song
could be referring to Christ in some sense.

I have had the fortunate opprotunity to meet with members of the band.
The are wonderful human beings, with some very strong Christian
undertones. (Two of the members {Ed and Dean Roland]) father was a
Baptist pastor in Stockbridge GA). Ed, the band leader and songwriter,
is very quiet about the meaning of his songs. However, through the
"grapevine," I understand that Ed wrote this song about a person who had
greatly dissappointed him. It is a very tragic and beautiful song.
