The Drovers are a Chicago band who have moved away a bit
from their Celtic roots. We recently saw them opening for Poi
Dog Pondering and were a tad disappointed because we didn't think
their move closer towards "rock" was all that interesting. Also,
I must admit to missing Kathleen Keane, who besides (shallow alert!)
being absolutely beautiful, played accordian and flute (I think).

The Drovers are a very real band from Chicago, they have one CD/Album/Tape
out now although it is hard to find it is titled _World of Monsters_ they
are soon tho be releasing a new 4 song EP entitled _Kill Mice Elf_ I
belive. They were also a bend that did some work for Ron Howard's
_Backdraft_ although they were not shown on camera. There is an ablum
release party in Chicago on the 19 of Feb.. I have on occasion seen them
here live, I have yet to see Kathleen with them, and to make it worse they
have losed Jackie the Precussionist for about 6 months due to tendonitis
of the wrist. This probably explains the change from the tradional to
more rock, they were even using a drum machine I think heaven forbid!
They are playing live here in Grand Rapids MI this weekend Sat. Feb. 12 at
the Intersection, See You There?

On a visit to Dublin recently I picked up a tape by Anuna. It's fantastic --
I'm kicking myself for not getting the disc.

Can anyone tell me what other titles there are (my tape is self-titled) and if
I can expect to find them aywhere in the bay area?

Also, does anyone know of any collaborations or related projects -- or even
other bands in the same vein (somewhere between Dead Can Dance and Clannad!)?

Thanks!

Yes they were...they were in the party scene with the Trinity Academy of
Irish Dancers....Sean was well scene as well as Kathleen...

Kathleen isn't with them anymore!!

Sean has always wanted his band to be more of the "rock" type band. That is
one of the reasons (if I remember correctly) he went out on his own and formed
the "Drovers". The bands members has changed quite a bit in the last 2 years
or so...Kathleen is just one of the changes...Liam Moore is no longer with them
either...

just a few more tidbits of info.....

Is Kathleen any relation to Jimmy Keane (piano accordion with Green
Fields)?

Hi, I'm a member of Anuna, so I can tell you a bit about the group.

We're Irish, based in Dublin. The CD/tape is our first album - it is
indeed a pity you didn't get the disc, as the quality is better, naturally.
If you really want one, I can arrange to send one via mail. I don't think
we have any distribution in the USA yet.

We start recording our second CD this month. We're not sure when
we will have it ready for release, but perhaps by the early summer.

If any of you are in Ireland this year, and would like to hear
Anuna perform in concert, get in touch and I'll send out details.

In the meantime, I maintain a html page about the group for those
of you with Mosaic/WWW capability. The contents may need updating
and I will do so today or tomorrow.
