Yes. It would. ;) Read on for alternatives:

This is great, you can still do this, and just map
www.woodenflutemaker.com to your address below:
: web site: http://www.key.net.au/~hozarose
How, you ask? There are a number of free domain managers on the net, the
one I'm familiar with is www.myinternet.com. It's free, and allows you to
do just what I've indicated above. It also will let you do an email
catch-all, so everything sent to who...@woodenflutemaker.com will end up
in your mailbox! Very cool stuff.
Head over to www.myinternet.com and register (free) for the basic service:
mydomain. Then follow their instructions to move your domain into their
control (you have to change DNS entries for your domain name, with whoever
you registered it with in the first place.) After that, just use their
mydomain tools to map the domain to your ISP's web address for your site,
and everyone ends up happy!
Let me know if you have questions, I'm more than happy to help out.

I'm using Freeparking, it was a one-off payment of $16 (I think), and you
can redirect it to any ISP, free or otherwise, at will. I don't have any
banners appearing as you'll see by connecting to www.foxtrot.co.uk, and
apart from a temporary email glitch yesterday it's been problem-free. Using
them means of course that I only pay local call charges to a free ISP and
domain name charges to Nominet, which is pretty good for having one's own
permanent email and www addresses. There's a link on my site, under web
resources in the links section.

Until now, I've just been using my isp's domain. I would greatly appreciate
any advice as to inexpensive domain hosting agencies. All this web site
work and research is taking a lot of time out of flute making, which is my
real work.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. If the general concensus is that
pop-up banners is a big turn-off, then I'll bite the bullet. But I'd rather
use a free server for a few months, if the general reaction is that this
would be acceptible.
Cheers,
Mark
