I have a CD called "Mull Of Kintyre", in which Glen Daly sings a very
special version of Scotland The Brave. As my English is somewhat limited, I
haven't been able to hear all the lyrics (but the parts I can hear is very
amusing) and so I am begging for help in finding the lyrics to this
version. I know it starts with "Land of the poppel heather..."

Scotland the Brave

Land that has known no dangers
Land that is full of strangers
Land of the Celts and Rangers (soccer teams)
Scotland the Brave

Land of the diesel trains
Big fat Maws (Mothers) and dirty weans (children)
Land of the Band of Hope (bit like the Salvation Army)
It now the land of the betting shoppe (Bookmakers)

Land where we don’t like swankies (people who brag)
Land where we don’t use hankies (handkerchiefs)
Land where the lassies (girls) love the Yankees
Scotland the Brave

Land of the hills and valleys
Jewish folk and wealthy tallies
Connollys and MacAnallys (surnames)
Scotland the Brave

Land that is famed for thinkers
Hindus, Pakistanis, tinkers
Land full of freebie drinkers
Scotland the Brave

Lands named from County Down
Donegal and Dublin Town
Teddy Boys and drain piped troosers (trousers)

But though you’re spirits flagging
Even though you’re knees are sagging
We’ve got something worth the bragging
..Harry Secome!!!
Scotland the Brave

I have tried to give you the translations where appropriate.

Best wishes
