When I was in Ireland last June, I heard a cover of "She Walks Through
the Fair" by Furry Village that was very well performed and produced,
the main melody of which was dominated by Uilean Pipes. The same track
was also used in a high-tech comercial that I saw on Irish TV a few
times during the same trip (it may have been advertising some sort of
Multimedia product or company?).

I have been trying to locate a CD either by Furry Village, or a
compilation CD featuring this song by them, but was unsuccessful in both
Ireland and back home in San Francisco. I have also attempted to search
for either CD at a couple of the larger US-based CD-sales web sites, and
again I was unsuccesful.

Does anyone out there know if such a CD exists, or can you suggest a
store or web site to contact that could help me in my search? If it is
only available in Ireland, I will be visiting there for a couple of
weeks in August to attend a wedding in Drogheda.

If you post a reply, please copy me via email.

Thank you,
Jim MacDaniel

Punching "Furry Village" in Altavista yielded the band's website as the
first item: http://www.stats.gla.ac.uk/~johnnew/furryvillage.html. Try
Altavista (http://www.altavista.digital.com) for such searches; it's
very good.

Hello Andrea,
So Far Furry Village have no album. I was talking to Maureen
Fahey last year and that is where I got the information. The group
is comprised mainly of the Fahey family from Galway. Maureen is
playing the fiddle currently in RIVERDANCE in Tasmania and they
will be moving to New Zealand in a week for a 3 month run. I think
her brother is playing in LORD OF THE DANCE.
