Does anyone know how one could buy a copy of the soundtrack? I would be
most grateful.

Thanks,

By coincidence i just posted a note about this last week: The CD which has
"I Can't Help Falling..." is Lick The Tins "Blind Man On A Flying Horse".
This is NOT the soundtrack from the Snapper but it does have that song
which a lot of people seem to be after. Anyway...email BopSh...@aol.com
that's Tom Kohn at the Bop Shop in Rochester NY and he has 4 copies in
his store right now and can order more.

Can't Help Falling in Love was done by a group called "Lick the Tin" or
possibly "Lick the Can" Same version used in the movie "Some Kind of
Wonderful", so you might be able to get the song from a soundtrack of that
movie.

This oughta go in the FAQ, hint hint...

From: k...@netsun.cl.msu.edu (Ken Josenhans)

Subject: Re: Lick the Tins?

According to the liner notes Lick The Tins were actually a London band, but
they make extensive use of tin whistle to get an Irish sound. Their one
album BLIND MAN ON A FLYING HORSE (1986) was reissued on CD by the UK folk
label Mooncrest, CRESTCD 012, with three 12" single mixes added to make
it the Almost Complete Works. (65 minutes long, for those who buy CDs
by the yard, like sausage.) The album is a pleasant folk-pop set;
the pennywhistle lines on the covers of "Can't Help Falling In Love"
and "Hey Joe" (yes, the Hendrix song) are a nice touch, but when the band
leaves the pennywhistles off they aren't too distinctive. The other
really memorable track from the album is "Belle of Belfast City", which
seems to be a bit of children's folklore.

If "Can't Help Falling In Love" hadn't been incorporated into the
"Some Kind of Wonderful" soundtrack, I'm sure that Lick the Tins would
now be completely forgotten.

I've never seen the CD offered for sale in the USA. My copy came
(after many months) from the UK folk mail order specialist Projection
Records, 19, Mount Pleasant, Crewkerne, Somerset TA18 7AH, UK.

(((Last I checked the CD was in stock at Schoolkids Records in
Ann Arbor, Michigan, and other recent postings have reported it in
The Bop Shop. )))

If you want to try writing Mooncrest directly, the address on the
CD is: Mooncrest Records, Twyman House, 31-39 Camden Road,
London NW1 9LF, UK.
