I've been hearing lots about the Green Linnet label, and sampler CDs.
Can anyone post an address so that I could get a catalog?

Thanks!

I've got mine right here :)

"Flight of the Green Linnet" (Celtic Music: The Next Generation)

The names of the tunes are quite long (some are medleys), but the artists
include:
Relativity
Matt Malloy, Sean Keane, Arty McGlynn
The Tannahill Weavers
Andy Stewart, Phil Cunningham
Kevin Burke
Andy Irvine,Patrick Street
The Irish Tradition
Touchstone
Mick Moloney
Buttons & Bows
Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh, Frankie Kennedy
Jamie McMenemy,Korndog
Silly Wizard
Kevin Burke, Michael O Domhnaill
Capercaillie
Jerry O'Sullivan
John Cunningham

17 tunes, time=69:44, 1988 RykoDisc

The booklet has a paragraph about each tune/artist with some background
information and name of Green Linnet disc from whence came the selection.

From the booklet:
"for a full catalog of Green Linnet compact discs, tapes and
records, please [return the enclosed postcard] or write to:
Green Linnett, Inc., 70 Turner Hill Road, New Canaan, CT, 06840,USA"

My overall favourite is "The Parish of Dunkeld/The Curlew" by Andy Stewart
and Phil Cunningham.

I found this on the back of one of my albums:
"New Address
Green Linnet
43 Beaver Brook Road
Danbury, CT 06810
(203) 730-0333"

Hope it helps. 8-)

Sorry to shout, but before anyone wrote to the address posted earlier I
would like to notify them that that address has changed.
The new address is:

Green Linnet
43 Beaver Brook Road
Danbury, CT, 06810
(203)-730-0333
This is from a mailing I received in June (The old address had been
covered with a sticker saying, in bold type, New Address followed by the
address.

They have a 1-800 number as well, this would be quicker.

I like that one too :-) That sampler caused me to buy Touchstone's
album, which I really really like, and also one by Silly Wizard, which
is mostly ballads and I didn't care for as much.

Well, I just called Green Linnet and ordered a catalog. The more important
part, though, is that I spoke briefly with the owner (she's the one who
answered the phone) of the label, and she is interested in getting onto
the Net (she's gotten LOTS of calls from Netters; she asked ME if I got
the number from the Net, and I was going to tell her anyways). I'll be
looking around in alt.internet.wanted or whatever, but does anyone out here
know of Net access in Connecticut? Then we could get the record people
on THIS newsgroup... Enjoy!
