ED MILLER
"The quiet spaces in-between each song are appropriately filled with witty
stories of
Scottish history and culture. He uses personal anecdotes and the
experiences of others to
recreate the traditional folk sing. And as absorbed listeners join in
singing catchy
choruses, one voice is clearly heard... The Scottish voice."
- Lesli Seymour
Austin Chronicle
"One of the best singers around... and also has an amazing rapport with his
audience.
Don't miss this."
- Forum Folk Club
East Kilbride
"Hearing Ed Miller is like picking up a book of favourite short stories.
Even though the
characters are familiar and you remember the basic plots, the telling
itself worth
hearing time after time."
- L.E. McCullough
Austin Chronicle
Ed Miller is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and now lives in Austin,
Texas. He is
a product of the 1960's folk revival in Scotland, having progressed from
sessions in
Edinburgh pubs, to the Edinburgh University Folksong Society, to
appearances at folks
clubs throughout Scotland. In 1968, he came to the USA for "a year or so" to do
graduate work in Geography and later Folklore at the University of Texas at
Austin.
It's been a long year - in fact, Austin has now been his home base for half
his life.
During that time, he has been a student, a university teacher, the host of
a folk music
show on Austin's NPR radio station, a housepainter, a soccer coach, and an
occasional
tour guide, as well as a frequent traveller between the US and Scotland. The one
constant, however, has been his singing, with regular gigs in Austin and tours
throughout North America, taking his songs and stories everywhere from
coffee houses
and folk clubs to festivals and Highland Games.

NOBODY'S REEL
"Four outstanding voices . . . crisp, brilliant, often humorous and always
eclectic
presentations. Their fine rich harmonies have made this group very popular."
-Austin Friends of Traditional Music
"A rich and powerful sound." -Balance and Sing
"Clean, clear harmonies . . . NOBODY'S REEL filter their folk-rock-jazz
with fun and
verve"
- Austin Chronicle.
This is the music of NOBODY'S REEL, the a cappella group based in Houston.
Members
are June Burton, Gary Graves, Kelley Loftus and Bill Galbraith. The four
have musical
backgrounds that include Rock, Jazz, Folk and Classical, and their music
reflects this
unusual blend, sometimes within a single song. Together since 1987. Among
television
and radio credits are two appearances on National Public Radio's "All Things
Considered"

THE KILLDARES
With influences ranging from The Chieftains, Silly Wizard, and Steeleye
Span to The
Pogues, Big Country, and The Waterboys it is easy to see that The Killdares
bring a
fresh new interpretation of Celtic music to the stage. Formed in February
of 1996, the
band is comprised of seasoned performers from the Dallas/Fort Worth area
who have
come together to produce a backing-beat "rock and roll" approach to traditional
Celtic/folk tunes of yesterday. Since the release of their debut
recording, Killer
Keltic, this eclectic group has proven its ability to provide an original,
broadened, and
electrified sound of Alternative Celtic Rock for all audiences. Experience

to be alive, apart from the ones that are a lament
about how bad it is to be dead." Shane MacGowan
