I tried burning mp3 and WMA files (the latter downloaded from Napster, the
former from Kazaa) to a CD using NTI CD Maker 2000 Plus, which has been
adequate in the past for all of my mp3 and regular cda needs. So I burn a
"data" cd with 160 songs on it to listen to at work on a Roxio Sonic Blue CD
player that supposedly supports wma songs.
So I start listening to it at work, and it's fine. I'm drumming on my desk,
tapping my feet, etc. an hour goes by and suddenly the music cuts out after
like a tenth of a second. I skip to the next track, same thing. I keep
skipping, till I hear a song. Eventually I figure it out. Only the mp3
files are playing. Since I got all the wma's from Napster, I emailed them,
and they said use Windows Media Player 9 to burn my CDs. OK fine.
This stupid program is the worst piece of software I've ever
encountered. Oh my God! I hate it. I have all the files that I want to
put on the CD in a folder called "Mixed CD", and each file is named like
this "001 Sarah McLachlan - Angel", "002 OMC - How Bizarre" etc. So they
are alreadey in the order I want them to be on the CD. But can I just use
Windows Media Player to just brose into that folder and drag and drop to a
Playlist and then click Burn CD?! No, I have to view by artist or album or
some other nonsense. Never do I see a file name, AND THATS THE ONLY THING I
WANT TO SEE!!!
So anyways, I want to know if anyone knows why I have to use Windows
Media Player to burn wma files, or if there is a better program that will
burn them without ruining them. I put all the songs from the original CD
back onto my Hard Drive, and they all seem to play fine, so there's nothing
wrong with the files themselves.
And if its my CD player that's the problem, that would be really
interesting since the songs are from Napster, which is owned by Roxio, who
are the Ones that make my CD player.
