While browsing youtube for Jorge Ben music, I came across this very
enjoyable smooth-jazz duet with Ivete:

She performs here with chops, taste, and considerable charm. I checked
out a bunch of her other videos, and they were mostly utter shite, or
at best tolerable bubble gum if you didn't have to listen too long. I
didn't make it past thirty seconds into a single one of them. But I
really love this duet with Jorge. Has she ever done anything else this
good?

yeah, i have the audio version of that track, but hadn't seen the
video. nice!

i also like ivete sangalo's take on jorge ben's "pais tropical," and
also her duets with jorge aragao ("locuras de uma paixao"), saulo
fernandes ("nao preciso mudar"), and roberto carlos ("se eu nao te
amasse tanto assim").

Surprise...Surprise...!!!???

Ever heard standard musician's line:
"The one who pays the bill, calls the tunes"?

When you make a living playing music, the
priority will always be feeding your family.....
Obviousely, smooth jazz fans are not spending
enough $$$ on music to support all the artists of that kind.....

Check out :

You'd be surprised at what a good guitarist she is.....

Thank you, that is good. Rosa brings class and credibilty to the
proceedings. Although I think I like this version better:

It's like Beauty and the Beast watching them together.

I haven't seen this video before, but have the cd "Casa de Samba."
Outstanding disc, and has lots of great tunes with a huge number of
stars of MPB. It is cool to see it performed live. Thanks for
posting!

BTW, I wouldn't classify this as smooth jazz - it is mainstream
Brazilian Pop music (MPB) with Jorge Ben.
