Hmm, can I still remember those words?

Escravos de Jo'
Jogavam caxanga'
Tira, bota, deixa o camele^ (?) ficar
Guerreiro com guerreiro
Tique tique tique ta' (?)

The (?) indicate words/verse that I'm not sure of. You know, as children
we were not required to write out these songs. We simply sang them...

Having been a child in Brazil I remember it like this:
Escravos de Jo/Jogavam caxanga/tira, bota, deixa o Ze Pere ficar
Guerreiros com guerreiros fazem
zigue zigue zag.

I'm positive about the last line and the third line. I'm not sure if it's
"Ze Pere" but I KNOW its not CAMELE like you had it.

Wait a minute, *now* I recognize that! Astrud Gilberto recorded it.
And I had no idea at the time that it was a Brazilian equivalent of
"Ring Around the Rosey".

Guerreros de Jo
Jogavam Caixangar
Tira, bota, deixe ficar
Guerreros com Guerreros fazem
zigue-zigue-za

This is how it was sung in the northeast, mid-70's, anyway - not sure on
the spelling, but the words are right.
