hi. i found an mp3 of caetano veloso and beck performing maria bethania
in los angeles in either july or september 1999. i'm wondering if anyone
knows where i can find a bootleg of this performance, or more mp3s.

Sorry, I don't know about further recordings of the gig. But I can
certainly give you more information. The date of the show was July 1,
1999. I was there, so I'd be curious to get that mp3 myself. The
following night's show, July 2, Beck didn't show.

The other collaborations, as I recall, were Caetano singing a few
unrehearsed bars of Beck's "Tropicalia", then the 2 of them doing the
'Maria Bethania' you mentioned and 'Baby'. Oh, and Beck did a little
of his trademark robot dancing when coaxed out again during 'How
Beautiful Could a Being Be'. A lot of fun, all around, but Beck really
shouldn't try to sing in Portuguese. He was self-depricating about it
before departing, in fact.

Cool, thanks for the information. The MP3 of Maria Bethania is on
Audiogalaxy. Search for "caetano beck" or something similar.

Does anybody know where I can get the others?
