FYI for fans of US based Brazilian vocalist Kenia or for fans of
terrific Brazilian music who may not be familiar with her yet:
Brazilian music radio host Randy Morse has a wonderful weekly
Brazilian music radio show broadcast on NPR (and that also streams on
the web) on KZUM in Lincoln, NE. He recently told me that soon he
will feature Kenia's wonderful 2007 CD called "Simply Kenia" on his
August 26th show. You can see this listed under "Highlights of coming
shows" on his playlist at http://www.kzum.org/brazil#coming.

I thought I'd post this info as this CD by Kenia is a recent favorite
of mine, and I was surprised to find out that some of my knowledgeable
Brazilian music friends had not heard of her. Kenia is from Rio but
has been living in PA for a number of years, and is well established
in PA as a musician and music educator. Many of you know of Kenia
from her excellent music made in the 80s and 90s. Her 2007 CD "Simply
Kenia" was her first new recording in 10 years, and it's great. You
can find out more about Kenia on her site is www.kenialive.com, and
you can sample clips from this CD on the site's "main" page. You can
also hear several complete songs from this CD on her Myspace page
