The criteria weren't much. It was open to the entire fine arts
department. It was, like most other scholarships, an essay contest. I
will post my essay later. I received $250. This was the first time that
the scholarship had been given, so I didn't expect too much. It was set
up by Steve Salo and the Northeast Band Boosters. Jaco's estate had
nothing to do with it, I don't even think they know. Now, I am a
freshman at Florida Atlantic University. I am studying music education,
and Jazz. I just want to compose and play for the rest of my life.
