Dear Readers;

Not too long ago I posted a cautionary note about Ken Dorn's music
company, posing the possibility that Dorn Publications may be going out
of business and suggesting not purchasing anything from his website. I
also pointed readers to Mel Martin's (great) website which had a special
page chronicling problems Mel and other contributors to Dorn
Publications had (that page was known as "Those 'Dorn' Letters"). I
also mentioned that Dorn's offices had disappeared, or at least, that he
had relocated.

In the interest of fairness, I am updating the above information. This
is not to be construed as an endorsement of Dorn Publications (cavaet
emptor for both potential shoppers and writers). But the following
facts should be duly noted:

1) Dorn Publications is still in business, and has relocated to new
offices in Medfield, Ma. They still publish Sax Journal and Jazz
Player, though several writers are no longer contributing due to the
above mentioned problems.

2) The online store is still operating, and can be reached at the
following link (interesting selection of literature and reed pricing):

http://www.dornpub.com/

3) Mel Martin has removed his "Those 'Dorn' Letters" webpage, and has
given me permission to quote our correspondence to this newsgroup. I
enclose his letter to me below.

Enclosure:

Hi Bruce;

I just received confirmation that Bob Bernotas had reached a
settlement and been paid (shorted). I also have been paid most of
what they owe although due to their utter lack of communication and
cryptic booking I'm still not certain. In any event, I have removed
the Dorn Letters web page from my site as it has served it's purpose
and essentially outlived it's usefullness. You can pass this info
along to any one you care to.

Best Regards;

Mel Martin
