The commentator mentioned that they could be heard on a couple of Maceo
(Maceo, blow your horn!) Parker LP's. Anyone heard these?
Too funky in here, give me some air!

Maceo had a couple of groups, besides the JBs: Maceo and the Macks, and
Maceo and All The Kings Men. Some of this stuff, along with JBs
material, and other James Brown related artists like Marva Whitney, has
been re-issued on compilations like "Rare Grooves", "Urban Classics",
and "James Brown's Funky People". There's a pretty good discography of
the JBs et al in James Brown's autobiography.
After splitting with James Brown, the JBs joined George Clinton's
ParliaFunkadelicment Thang. That's a huge subject, but they play with
Parliament, Funkadelic, Bootsy's Rubber Band, and some of the spin-offs,
notably the Horny Horns.
Fast-forwarding to the '90s, Maceo has an EP out called _For All The
Kings Men_. The lineup includes Maceo Parker (Alto Sax), Fred Wesley
(Trombone), and Bootsy Collins (Bass). Quite the JBs re-union!
The JBs are also on a new Bootsy's Rubber Band EP _Jungle Bass_, and
contribute to DeeLite ("Groove Is In The Heart").
just the thin end of the funky wedge
