Its tough to hear on the Joe Henderson trio recordings I have (i.e. no
harmony instrument).
E-mail appreciated, if possible.
Thanks in advance.
> Does anyone have the changes to "Beatrice" by S. Rivers?
As I recall them:
F | Gb | F | Eb |
Dm | Eb | Dm | Bbm |
Am | Bb | Em7b5 A7b9 | Dm7 (G7) |
Gm7 | Gb | F | (Gb) |
The major chords listed with no quality (eg, "F") can be played as major
sevenths or sixth chords. The minor chords with no extensions (eg, "Dm") can
be played as minor seventh or sixth chords.

Pretty much the same as what I had, except for the key change and a couple of
alternate namings for the same scale. The one significant different would
seem to be ending on a minor chord rather than major. The faekbook I first saw
the tune in ended major, but I've also seen a lead sheet somewhere else that
ended minor. I don't have any recordings of the tune to judge for myself. I
can hear both in my mind, and I like it either way.
No but really, about a year ago, i heard a recording of Beatrice by Sam Rivers that had a guitarist and
electric bass player, not a very old recording for sure so you could probably find it easily. There
were some slight variations in the changes that surprised me that were different from what i've
heard most people play.
