"Matthew Shipp is a New York based pianist and composer. He was raised In Wilmington, Delaware and attended the University of Delaware and the New England Conservatory of Music. Shipp has been at the forefront of jazz and improvised music since the 1990's. His musical style draws on jazz, contemporary classical music, and electronic music."
