Does anyone know the words to the chorus in Jeff Healy's
Angel Eyes? I can't seem to get it off the disk at all.
Here's the part in question:

Chorus:

So tonight I lie to stars above, how did I ever win your love
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
What did I do, what did I say, to turn your angel eyes my way.

That's just a guess, but it doesn't make any sense, nor can I
be sure from listening (over and over) to this passage on the
disk. Any help would sure be appreciated...

P.S: I'm posting this to r.m.cd also because there was someone
over there looking for this recording just the other day.
Also, to r.m.misc just because.
Please follow up to rec.music.bluenote only. Or email.
Thanks!

My interpretation is...

So tonight I'll ask the stars above, how did I ever win your love?

What did I do, what did I say, to turn your angel eyes my way.

couldn't REALLY make this out on the disc, but it makes SENSE! :)

hope this helps.

Patrick.

My interpretation was always: "So tonight, our lives are stars above."
IMHO, this is very clear, but perhaps my ears aren't as good as I'd like to
believe they are.

Sorry to post this to the entire civilised world, but I don't think this
news program can cope with distribution areas....

I'm looking for a Drummer and a Bass player (Electric or Double) for a
Jazz, Blues and RnB Band in London (that's in England, folks). We're forming
this band for fun, not for hopes of international stardom, so you don't have
to be a maestro to join us.

Please e-mail replies to:
bd_...@uk.ac.kingston.neptune
or
ec_...@uk.ac.kingston.neptune
or
Ring Geoff on (081) 670 7919

Now's your chance to prove that there are subscribers to this group in England!

How about this?

"So tonight, I lie with stars above."

I'm not a native English speaker, but I like that line.
