Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Someone once described to me a version that replaces the chant with
"Burrito Supreme...", but I've never tracked down the recording. Not
that this is likely to be what you had in mind.

Man, that's really funny (seriously), and I really like that album. Although
rhythm-wise it would have to be "taco supreme", "cheese milk cream",
good lord the possibilities are endless.
Peace,
Kurt
On Conrad Herwig's "The latin side of John Coltrane" cd they chant
"suprem' amor". No other lyrics, however.

Please tell me you're joking.
I called Pizza Hut and ordered "A Large Supreme, A Large Supreme"
Not joking.

He's not. Do you think this is bad?

Considering the CDs title, and the fact that the arrangement is salsa, I
think it would've been bad form *not* to translate the lyrics.

According to a column by Lewis Porter in Down Beat (February 1998),
the key is in Coltrane's liner notes: "The fourth and last part
["Psalm"] is a narration of the theme, 'A Love Supreme,' which is
written in the context."
Porter says that Coltrane is referring to his poem "A Love Supreme"
(also part of the liner notes). Porter writes: "He is reciting the
poem on his saxophone, one note for each syllable."
I know this doesn't answer your question directly, but it may help.

Mark Murphy is a guest vocalist on the record (not on that tune, though).
The "Moment's Notice" lyric was not approved on by the Coltrane heirs, so
after the first edition of the CD that tune will not be on further editions
but replaced by something else. So hurry, hurry....
Sittel is a Swedish record company. And the CD is great!
