Given your description, you probably were listening to KPFA (94.1
FM). They have some jazz programming, but overall they're really
eclectic, as you might expect from a non-profit station (IIRC). KCSM
(91.1 FM), to which other Bay Area listeners have alluded, is also
quite good; they're exclusively jazz.

KPFA, 94.1 is a likely guess. I believe your referring to a track off of
McCoy's Infinity release from a year or so back (w/ the players you
mention and Michael Brecker).
